My name is Naomi and I’m a nail varnish addict.
When I was young, I used to bite my nails and keep them short for playing the violin. As I got older, I walked past nail varnish shelves and ran my fingers along all the colours.
I didn’t know which colour I wanted, but I knew I wanted nice enough nails to wear them all. So I stopped biting my nails and started buying nail varnish. I first tried pinks, like any 14 year old girl would. But it didn’t really suit my skin tone. Then I tried purples, reds, greens, blues.
My world was suddenly a rainbow and I loved it.
When I went to university, our colours were green, black and white so I bought all of those colours and created patterns on my nails ready to support our sports teams.
Once I graduated, I moved onto reds (sex reds, I called them). Siren reds and burgundy were the only colours I’d wear because they made me feel confident.
I tried so many brands, from the cheap and cheerful Miss Sporty and Barry M to Model’s Own, but the best nail varnish I’ve tried is NailsInc.
It’s a bit pricey, but there’s a reason why it’s so expensive.
The Nail Kale base coat is phenomenal. My nails are so strong then sometimes I don’t even wear nail varnish, just the base coat. The Kensington Caviar top coat gives it such a shiny glow and extra protection that my nails rarely break.
You can use any other brand, but make sure that these two products are in your nail varnish bag. I’m not moving to Sydney without them!
