You might not have noticed but I haven’t posted for a couple of weeks, almost a month actually! I’ve been struggling with my mojo (which every blogger does) and I decided I needed to take action.
Yes I know that I underwent a rebrand about a year ago, but we humans are constantly growing and evolving in a survival of the fittest kind of way.
The first thing you’ll notice that’s different about the blog is the design.
Yes, I switched to a new theme from Wat Design Express, but it just wasn’t working with what I wanted. There was no way to give credit for photos, I had to ask for code to make the header bigger… It just wasn’t worth all the hassle! I’m back to my trusty Pipdig theme and I’ve played around with it so it’s what I want it to be. There’s a reason why people choose a Pipdig theme and now I understand it!
My aesthetic isn’t pink and girly like other bloggers which adds the feeling of not belonging or being a “real” blogger, but I have moments where I realise that being different makes me stand out in ways that those pink girls won’t.
I also got a new header done by Graphics by Soph and I am completely in love with it. It took us a little while to get there because I was super annoying and wanted every tiny thing changed, but she was an angel and I’m completely in love. Sometimes, I click on my twitter profile so I can see it!!
I am one of those people that don’t like change, yet crave it all the time. I want to change everything and nothing all at once and then feel very uncomfortable with my life. Typical, I know.
So I’ve decided to rearange some things.
I’ve been trying to redecorate my room for WEEKS and have got stuck at the “half of the wallpaper is off the walls but I need to paint the skirting board” phase, which is a very annoying pase to be in… My room is patchy and not very appealing at all.
So I am going to make a vow to finish doing my room. Once I’ve finsihed my desk dolly stint, I’m going to actually finish my room. Having a place that I call my own, and that I did myself, is just want I need.
Plain cream walls with a feature wall, plain white furniture and statement accessories is something I’ve always wanted. Feeling like you want the girliest room there has ever been? Add some pink cushions and rows of fairy lights. Feeling a little emo? Then add some black accents and it’s like you’ve slipped back into being an angsty teenager.
This is going to be the toughest one. Readjusting.
Once I’ve done all of these changes, I’m going to have to readjust to the new way of thinking.
I’ve started reading again (thank goodness for YA vampire books!) and I know exactly what I want in the near future, so I’m going to have to try really hard not to slip into my old ways.
I’m going to write about what I want to, when I want to, and not feel pressured to follow the rules set in place by bloggers who don’t live my life.
Let’s do this.
