I know a lot of people are doing these “new year, new me” posts, but this really isn’t one of them. I love to see what I’ve done over the past 12 months, both good and bad, but this year I want to make positive steps towards creating the life I’ve always imagined.
If you’ve followed my journey so far, you’ll know that I went through some shit in 2018.
But on the other hand, I did some amazing things!
I had my first sponsored post about my favourite music, I started my bullet journal, I was invited to The Handmade Fair, The Good Food Show and a Photography Masterclass, and I started my natural hair journey.
Phew, what a year!
Like I said before, I want 2019 to be a year of yes. I want to try new things and start living my life instead of just reacting to what’s happening.
30 Before 30
So firstly, I’m going to start ticking off some of my 30 Before 30 list. I’ve done pretty well so far (buying a camera for the blog, hitting 1000 blog views in a month, booking tickets for Les Miserables in May) but there are so many other things I want to do. I turn 28 at the end of January so I still have loads of time to do it.
This year is going to be hectic!
I’ve already put my name in the Canadian visa pool and I’ve started my TEFL certificate so I can teach English in a foreign country. I’m thinking about South Korea or China but I can’t decide which one!
I also want to be able to add more countries to my Travel section of the blog so keep your eyes peeled for more destinations, both at home and abroad.
Year Of Experiences
I want to create memories and take photos to remember it by.
I’ve always been the type to live in the experience instead of having my phone out, but that means that I don’t have anything to help me remember those amazing times. I hardly took any photos of Australia and I regret that a lot.
My sister and I trotted off to London this weekend for her work Christmas party so there’ll probably be a post going up about it soon.
Then I’ll be off to Champneys with Mum – I won a spa break and we’re heading off in February to spend some time together and let the world pass us by while we laze by the pool.
We also have tickets to see Les Miserables in May (which I am ridiculously excited about!). I literally grew up listening to Les Mis and would sing Castle on a Cloud at every opportunity, nowadays Lovely Ladies is my go-to song.
Mum and I will also be off to The Ivy for lunch and hopefully drinking all the prosecco! This is part of Mum’s Christmas present because she doesn’t need more stuff to shove under the bed. Plus, she deserves nice things and I’m fortunate enough to be able to give them to her.
After that, who knows? There’s a huge world out there and I want to experience everything it has to offer.
What are your plans for 2019?
