I just went for my first Brazilian laser treatment at Laser Clinics Australia and I was terrified.
You know when you’re about to get a tattoo and you really want to back out but you’ve been mentally preparing yourself for the last 6 months and you really want it and you’ll regret it if you don’t? Yeah, that kind of scared.
The room was clean and there were wipes and wash available, and the therapist was so lovely when I told her it was my first time.
It was a strange sensation. There’s a fan above the laser that’s blowing cool air on you, then the laser starts zapping away. Some areas were completely painless, and the other areas (where I’d done a rubbish job as shaving) was so hot that I wanted to cry a little bit. It wasn’t that it was painful, it just feels like a thin elastic band pinging your skin. It’s definitely the heat that causes the pain problem. Oh my gosh and the smell…! If you’ve ever singed your hair then that’s the smell. Gross. But if you shave properly, there won’t be any hair to singe and no smell.
The pain subsides in less than a second and the whole treatment takes around 10 minutes. Yes, only 10 minutes for my armpits and Brazilian. Oh, and Brazilian means pants off, just so you know. She left no patch of skin un-lasered (even the pesky inside bit that you always forget to shave) and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
For the first few months, you go every 4 weeks, then every 6 weeks, until you only go when you notice hair coming through.
For the first time, I actually can’t wait for my hair to grow so I can see the results! I’ll keep you posted (I know you’re secretly intrigued…)Tags: Laser
